18 May 07 BT phones, easier now at PCM Telecom

pmc_telecom_header_2.jpgThe guys at PCM Telecom, a well known supplier of BT Phones, have made a complete revamp and redesign of their website, and via ReviewMe we are keen to have a look and check out what new features they have included on it.

Landing on the home page and starting to search for a new phone is as easy as scrolling down the screen, for that they have listed on a series of 15 items per page, the latest models of BT phones available in the market  ( you can choose to display 15, 25, or 30 so to go quicker in your product scanning ). If you budget is what matters here, well, then just sort them out by price, which is what I have done to find out a new but not to expensive phone to replace mine.

Every item has its description page, which is basic to know what you are buying, but as I am not simply convinced for the technical description, I always search on the net for product reviews. It happens that they have a page on their site just for that, although it was not clear to me if they are done by actually customers or by experts  ( some are very simple, some are more detailed).

Anyhow, their stock it is not just limited to phones and the shop has several other telecom categories you can browse: from bluetooth devices, to fax machines or VoIp products. I would say that the new design will fit pretty much the needs of every customer looking for clear info about products before we decide on purchasing anything.

30 Abr 07 HP Ipaq Voice Messenger, do it just talking

hp-ipaq-500.jpgBlackberry fans use to complain about having to use their thumbs too much :-), because actually there is nothing you can do in this popular device without writing, and this is probably why HP has launched his new gadget the Ipaq Voice Messenger.

This mobile phone not only reads out loud your messages but also lets you reply to them without typing anything, as you can record a voice message that will be sent as WAV file in the attach to your recipient.

I guess this is a good new for people who likes to be connected on the move and not having to get their fingers tired while doing it :-). More over, this phone allows you to do almost everything using voice commands: navigating through options, updating your calendar and, of course, call someone from your contacts. It has also wi-fi capabilities, so you can use it over the net whenever there is a connection in a sort of skype-type mode. If you were looking for a new model of handset that you ease your digital life, this one could be a pretty handy one to have! :-) .

23 Abr 07 Easy unlock of your cell phones

One of the best things of running a blog about new products and services, is that you get to know first hand many interesting applications, services and cool stuff that otherwise it would be harder to find by yourself ( or you even may not be aware of it). This is the case of this site we were asked to check thanks to Sponsored Reviews: Cellular-blowout,  a large ecommerce store that specializes in unlocked phones and cell phone accessories.

Browsing their site you can notice that they currently have around 300 different phone models available and over 17,000 different accessories ( no, I did not count them, they told me :-)) , so you won’t be short of options. Phones are sorted into categories like hot new ones, most popular, camera phones, or directly by brand. Same goes with their range of accessories. The idea behind is that you no longer need to be restricted to a long term cellular contract, as you can buy easily one of their unlocked cell phones.  And if you do not know what to buy and need suggestions, got questions or want to get advice, you can join the implemented forum, it makes it easier to decide about the product that best suits your needs.

The shop also uses a Yahoo! Shopping ecommerce platform so all orders and customer information is very secure, for those who are not very comfortable doing this over a keyboard. If you are to decide about buying one of their products, note down this code “cbx05″, as they offer the readers of this blog a $5 off in any order you place ( thank you guys! :-)).

16 Mar 07 Skype Prime, paid calls over the net

Skype has just launched the Beta version of its Skype Prime service, a new application that will allow skype-to-skype calls be charged at a defined-by-the-user price. The idea behind is to allow the creation of customer support lines, hot sexy lines, paid information numbers, etc, etc as they exist now in the conventional telephony system.

So, instead of now looking for your fix or mobile phone to call your laptop support service or your travel agent, you can just use skype prime, and the company can charge you a fee for doing it.

The idea is good, although it breaks the whole concept of free calls over the internet, but if you think about it, it is also very convenient. You do not need a phone anymore, if while working on your computer you need to make a call, the only thing you have to do is click one icon on your skype session. Easy and fast.

Will it change the way people approach conventional paid numbers? If you are interested in trying it out, just go to their site and download the beta version :-).
