05 Jul 07 Flare9, creating a website from scratch

It’s been some time since our last review of interesting applications to help create websites with absolute zero knowledge, from scratch to a nice and good looking personal or professional webpage.

Now, thanks to Sponsored Reviews (this blog profile here :-) , we get the chance to discover a new one that promises to provide even to the most novice user, the possibility to create a professional quality website without having to know any HTML code whatsoever.

We are talking about Flare9, a website builder with an integrated content management system where every page is editable via a simple to use WYSIWYG ( What You See is What You Get ) editor and that will help you provide that very important good image for your business or company on the web ( and we all know how important it is to have a well designed page, don’t you agree? :-), at least I am trying it with this blog , LOL ).

It is actually pretty easy to start the process and make it work, all sum up in a few steps. The sign up of the account will take you only 5 minutes and then you are ready to start building the website. You can select first one of the many themes available for you, and later you can customise according to your preferences. If you do own already a domain you can use it or you can register one via their system, where you have also hosting facilities.

Also, the website packages come with a full set of features that most probably you will be willing to have ( Google Analytics support, management of feeds, integrated blog, control of your meta tags to do some SEO and improve your presence on the net, etc). By getting the whole package here you get the chance to have everything integrated from the beginning. The idea is good, no need to work further to improve the pages you have created, everything comes at once.

So, if you are one of those willing to start your own professional website, with plenty of features and not willing to get a headache in the process, get a look at this service cause it may be interesting for you :-)

02 Jul 07 Relocation.com, helping you to start a new life

I know by experience that moving to live somewhere else can be nice but complicated, specially when you have to relocate all your stuff to your new city/country, and you find that it is a much more difficult story of what you thought initially. I have done it already 4 times to different countries, and apart from the first time that I thought it would be easy to do everything by myself :-) (LOL) , I have always looked for the help of some moving companies  to make the transition as effortless as possible.

I always start the process by looking for as much info as I can about my new location, for example via Google or asking friends and colleagues, also now, since a short while ago, you have the opportunity to have all this info in one single website that, thanks to sponsored reviews, we are going to have a look a it.

Relocation.com has, to start with, a very good Internet domain name, so there is no mistake on what these guys do :-). They provide a full range of detailed guides designed to help you start your new life without forgetting anything important.

Browsing their sections you can find information on Real Estate, MortgagesMoving services to both US national and international destinations ( just say where you want to go and they provide you back with the best quotes),  help  to hunt for a new appartment,  and plenty of other services like finding an insurance or look for professionals to help you do some home improvement in your new cosy place ( ranging from decorators till air conditioning installations, you have a directory full of services).

The information is well organised, go to the main page, check on the several sections on the top menu or scroll down the left sidebar to find the different services. Just enter your new location and you will be able to browse their directory of resources: look an  apartment by state, find an architect just entering your zip code or get a quotation from their lenders to find the perfect mortgage for you.

So you know, here you have some resourcefull place to help you do the moving and avoiding you all the stress of looking how to do it!

29 Jun 07 JustsayHi, and get your new partner

For those who like dating over the internet, making friends online and looking for their soul mate over the sound of a keyboard and a mouse click, you have now a cool place to do so that we have just discovered via Sponsored Reviews. We are talking about JustsayHi., a brand new site where you can met plenty of friends sharing common interests or simply willing to find new people for dating, and, who knows, engage in a serious relationship :-). At least the steps to do so could not be easier, just register in the website, it is 100% free ( which is so far something that makes them different from similar sites like True.com, or a few others), enter some basic info about your profile so you can be contacted ( it takes about 1 min to do it), and well ,start dating!.

The features offered are as good as any paid website of similar purpose, but the idea behind is that everyone should be able to meet new people and date easily without paying anything. Cool, isn’t it? It is all about not being shy at all and be willing to meet thousands of singles waiting for a chance to know you :-), you can really never guess when your half-orange is coming, don’t you? Let me know if you suceed, it will be interesting to read about all your experiences :-).

26 Jun 07 Need space, Store at my House

Well, actually I am not able to let you put your stuff at my living room :-) , but you can indeed find some other people who will love to let you do it :-) . I am talking about the project Store at my House, a very interesting website initiative where you can find people with plenty of empty room to rent you some square meters for your things. The idea can be lucrative for you also, should you have some place to store somebody’s boxes, you can offer it online. It is no wonder that such ideas can have some success on the web, the storage houses are normally pretty expensive and sometimes you just need a couple of square metters and not to pay too much for it. So, keep an eye and let us know if you participate in it, it would be great to read about it :-)

18 May 07 Cooking Spot, thousands of free recipes

cslogo.gifAlmost time for lunch! Do you know what to cook today? If you are like me, having difficulties to change the home daily menu, the website we have just discovered may help us quite a lot! :).

I am talking about CookingSpot, a website where you will find thousands of free recipes for everyone in every single cooking style I could think of.

The nice thing about it is that you can search easily the recipe you may like for today with just clicking a couple of links: feeling like some japanese sushi? just go to the Asian category, what about some hot and spicy food, head to Mexican cuisine…. I am pretty sure we can cook everyday something different without repiting a single recipe…. oh gosh, I am so hungry now! :-)

14 May 07 Airaid, Credit Cards comparison service

card.JPGNot difficult to introduce this interesting service :-), who in the world does not need a credit card in today’s daily life? :-). Well, now if you live in the UK ( yep, for the moment they are only available for UK residents) you can get some help to find the right credit card from the right bank for your real needs (cool sentence, isn’t it? :-)).

The service I am talking about is called Airaid, and it is a Credit Cards comparison service that in 3 easy steps helps you find the right credit card UK for you in minutes. The only thing you need to do is to set up your needs and put their search engine to work. It will return you a list of a dozen or so credit cards with some characteristics, then you can just apply online through their system to get it. It is also possible to hit the “Compare cards” link and you will find the different possibilities sorted out by type of card.

It seems to me a pretty quite clear and fast service, I did not apply to any of them as I have one since I can remember :-), but should you have in mind to get a new one or to change your bank, give it a try and let us know if you found the best option for you!

14 May 07 Hotel Reservation.com, easy way to find an hotel

I am just back from some days abroad ( went to Singapore to do some burocracy paperwork) and found myself with this site that it would have been nice to discover just a couple of weeks ago :-). I am talking about Hotel Reservations, a service that, as you probably imagine, is about booking Hotels and finding Hotel Discounts pretty much everywhere in the world.

Started playing around a bit and one of the most interesting features I found was the possibility of having the interface in several languages, not that I know more than a couple of the available ones, but I can think of several people that get away quickly if they don’t find the info in their mother tongue always.  Digging in their database looking for hotels in Singapore ( to compare :-)), I found several ones with a cheaper price and same number of stars as the one I’ve been ( damn it! :-)), so probably next time I will have a look here before booking anything.

I have to say that as in many similar pages, not only can you book a hotel, but you can find flights, rent a car o browse through complete holiday packages, so more or less you have everything a couple of clicks away. Summing up, we will put it in our bookmarks and use it next time to organise our trips, I will let you know what interesting savings I do find! :-)
