We take great pleasure in reviewing the latest in advertising services that has come out this month. It’s called WidgetBucks. As some of your might have noticed, we have got it running on our homepage for some time now and our review stems from our experience with it so far. Oh yes, before we start giving you the ropes, the image above is from the WidgetBucks blog and shows the how well it is being accepted: that is the first week of launch.
The Good Things
- We noticed significantly higher revenue per click as compared to Google AdSense.
- WidgetBucks enables PayPal as a medium of receiving payments.
- The support staff is very responsive and we got responses to our queries within a day (they even altered one of their website forms once we found a small problem with it)
There is a referral program which allows you to earn from referring others (of course, at this stage we HAVE to give our referral link, so just click on this image to sign up).
- There is $25 sign up bonus (so in case you skipped clicking on that image, go back to the previous point)
- There is smaller minimum amount to be achieved to get monthly payment.
Things That Need to be Fixed
- Sparse reports of errors when displaying the widget in IE.
- Not enough customization on offer yet when it comes to choosing widgets (which should change soon).
- You can see that they are no where near being mature enough (small advertiser inventory, the context sensitive mechanism doesn’t really work).
- Very oriented to product websites/blogs. So they may not perform very well on all kinds of websites.
Nevertheless, it is a very exciting platform and we have heard only good things about it so far. We will keep you posted on developments. Hopefully it will turn out very well.
