I got today a mail from Shvoong, a website that I tried several months ago and that I had totally forgotten about them. Shvoong is a place where you can write abstracts, summaries, reviews, etc from published books, news or whatever so other people get to know a bit about it. It is like building a huge library of summaries that you can browse before deciding if it is worth it to read the full original source or not.
Whatever the idea is good or not ( seems it is as they have already almost 400000 articles), the email came to announce an improvement in their system. You know, I tried very enthusiastically Shvoong at the beginning because it was a source of small income, you can get some money (not much honestly :-)) writting summaries that later get exposed to the public for general voting. You get a percentage of the revenues they obtain due to advertising according to the popularity of your reviews ( also you can translate to several languages what others have written and get cash for this). But I found out soon that the effort was not being rewarded enough so I stop translating and writing articles.
I have decided to give it a try to their improved system and soon will start again posting some abstracts there. You can also post extracts of your blogs so you increase your visibility in the net, and if you happen to be a student or be around places where many people may be interested in writing, you can even print some flyers and hang them up in the walls of your schools with a code, so when people sign up with that code you get some revenues for that, check their affiliates page for info :-).
